Shuffle Hero is run by Macias Ventures LLC, doing business as Saucy With Ozzy ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use the app, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work, we don't sell your data, and there are no ads or third-party trackers.
What we collect
Your account
- Email address. Every account has one. We use it to sign you in and to send sign-in codes.
- If you sign in with Google: your name, email address, profile picture and Google account ID, which Google shares with us when you agree. We don't get your Google password or access to anything else in your Google account.
- If you add a passkey: only its public key. Your fingerprint, face or device PIN never leaves your device.
- Account dates: when you created your account and when you last used it.
How you use the app
We count how many routines are generated, pinned and shared, how often people sign in, and how often Listen finds a song's BPM, per day. If you're signed in, the counts are tied to your account. If you're not, they're tied to a random ID stored in your browser, which isn't linked to your name or any other information. We use these counts to understand how the app is used and to apply daily limits on free accounts. Daily counts are kept for about 13 months.
The routines themselves aren't stored on our servers. A share link carries the routine in the link itself.
Technical information
When your browser talks to our servers, our logs record your IP address, browser type, the time and the part of the app you used, and your account ID where relevant. We use this to keep the service running, fix problems and prevent abuse. These logs are deleted after 30 days. To stop people flooding the sign-in form, we also briefly record your IP address and a scrambled (hashed) copy of the email address you entered; those records expire within an hour.
Microphone and tab audio
When you press Listen, the app asks for your microphone (or, on a computer, for a tab or screen to share) and listens for up to 15 seconds to work out the song's tempo. The sound is analyzed on your device only: it is never recorded, stored or sent to us or anyone else. Listening stops as soon as a tempo is found, when you press Stop, or when you leave the page. We count only that Listen found a BPM, as described above.
Cookies and browser storage
We use only what's needed to sign you in. There are no advertising or analytics cookies.
- rt: keeps you signed in, for up to 30 days.
- oauth and email: hold your place during sign-in, for up to 10 minutes.
- sh:anon (browser storage): the random ID used to count activity when you're signed out. Clearing your browser data removes it.
- sh:theme (browser storage): your Light or Dark choice, if you pick one. It stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Who else handles your data
- Amazon Web Services hosts the app in the United States, stores account and usage data, and delivers sign-in emails.
- Google, if you choose to sign in with Google. Google's own privacy policy covers what it does.
- Stripe, once paid plans launch, will process payments. Card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We may disclose it if the law requires us to, or to protect the safety of our users or the service.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from the account menu (Delete account). This immediately removes your account, your profile and your usage counts. Copies in server logs are deleted within 30 days, and copies in our backups within 35 days.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing us at the address below. We'll respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights under local law; contact us and we'll help.
Security
All connections use HTTPS. Data is encrypted at rest, and the cookie that keeps you signed in can't be read by scripts on the page. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
Children
Shuffle Hero is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
